How Does Fat Reduction and Contouring Work?

What Are the Options?
Kybella®
The active ingredient in Kybella® is synthetic deoxycholic acid. Deoxycholic acid is a naturally occurring molecule in the body that helps break down and absorb dietary fat. When injected into the fat beneath the chin, Kybella® destroys fat cells, resulting in a noticeable reduction in fullness under the chin. Once destroyed, these cells can no longer store or accumulate fat, so further treatment is not expected once you reach your desired goals.
Sciton SkinTyte®
SkinTyte® uses advanced infrared light technology and patient-tailored filters to deeply heat dermal collagen and firm areas of loose or sagging skin. This treatment doesn’t require a topical anesthetic and works by delivering energy in rapid, gentle pulses to promote contraction, initiating the body’s natural healing process.
What Results Can I Expect?
Kybella® injections take 15-20 minutes to perform. You may need up to six treatment sessions, spaced at least one month apart for the best results. Many patients experience visible results in 2-4 sessions.
With Sciton SkinTyte®, you will see results from a single treatment. However, the number of treatments will depend on the severity of your skin laxity. Typically, a series of 3-5 treatments deliver the most desirable results. You can come in for additional treatments every 4-6 weeks.
